Meet Your Teachers

David McFadden A.R.C.T.

Learning the violin is both challenging and rewarding. I take great pleasure in sharing that journey and the joy of music with my students.  I studied violin with several of the world’s greatest teachers both in Canada and in Europe.  I have had the great privilege of performing over 3500 concerts around the world with Symphony Orchestras, Opera, Ballet, Musical Theatre and even pop and rock concerts with huge stars from Josh Groben to Ray Charles; Alan Jackson to Deep Purple.  Playing violin for movies, TV, and CD recordings has been one of my favorite endeavors.

In addition to my RCM and U of T training, I have become a certified Suzuki teacher.

In Simcoe County, I serve as Concertmaster of the Huronia Symphony Orchestra and I also serve as a part of the worship team at Emmanuel Baptist Church.

My hobbies include roasting coffee, cycling, making hot sauce and baking bread.  I love to teach and encourage others both young and old, and music is an awesome passport to excitement and personal growth.  I look forward to being a part of your adventure!

Learning music should be fun and creative.  I believe that everyone should have an opportunity to develop their creative and musical abilities in a positive learning environment.  Inspired by my piano teaching mother, I began piano lessons at the age of 5 and vocal lessons at the age of 7.  I found my passion singing and playing piano in churches and at special events. I continued my studies at the Royal Conservatory of Music in Toronto where I won the Silver Medal Award for voice and at Roberts Wesleyan College in NY where I earned my Bachelor of Music Education.  I have taught school in NY state, Japan and here in Simcoe County, directed choirs and school musicals.

Continued learning:

  • Music therapy
  • Specialist in drama and primary education
  • Group piano teaching certification
  • Jazz piano @ York University
  • Jazz voice @ York University
  • Vibrant music teacher’s training

I love hiking with my family, organizing, reading, and spending time with family and friends.  David and I are the music Directors at the Muskoka Bible Centre, our family’s favorite place to be.  Performing with our 2 kids is dream come true as it is a gift to make music together!
